My new notebook. Compaq Presario A900. I believe it's the cheapest 17" laptop out there. (my dream of a decent sub 1k laptop was shattered) Pentium duo core 1.6Ghz, 160GB storage, 2GB RAM. And your usual suspect laptop conveniences: bluetooth, SD card reader etc.

Besides the large display and Altec Lansing speakers, what I like is the full size keyboard, which includes the num pad. On the downside, it's kinda big and the guy at Harvey Norman told me there ain't no lap top sleeve for this. Guess I got to improvise something should the need arise.

It only came with a 25 times trial version of Office 2007 so I had to obtain a copy from a friend. Other useful downloads I picked up online were winzip, winrar and open office. Hope winzip and winrar don't expire. Now to transfer some files from the old laptop via my 80GB external HD...

So far no Vista blues yet.
