Argh, it was pretty dumb today as I was cycling home, because I forgot about the fact that at the end of North Buona Vista Road (ie turn right at holland village), the right turn traffic light only activates when the sensors on the road are activated! Yeah, so pretty much I arrived alone at the intersection, and was happily day dreaming for the lights to change: I saw the perpendicular traffic flow light change from green, to amber, to red, to the right turn signal.... and then to green again!!! Argh. That was dumb. I shall remember to sit smack in the center of the lane next time...
On seperate news on TV news tonight, they reported about something like 70+ cyclists kena fined for cycling on the express way, and that some 50+ yr old guy who did so got hit by a taxi and died. Well, yah I think you shouldn't cycle on the express way. I tried it 5 yrs ago and it was pretty insane trying to avoid the traffic filtering in and out of the expressway. And really, there was no way anyone could help if anything happened. Speed difference too great there.
And I didn't blog about it but an Army Half Marathon team mate of mine passed away 2 Saturday's ago due to a motorcycle accident. He was on PIE, a vehicle in front slowed or braked so he swerved/braked and fell off his bike, and a lorry from behind (i think in another lane) ran over his chest. He died shortly from his injuries.
Anyway, I just got back on the bike after 5 entire days OFF it. I didn't even sit on it for more than 1 sec during this period. Damned flu... Anyway I tested my budget way of water/dirt proofing my Chrome Messenger Bag and so far so good lah, as long as the plastic bags last...
