Hmm, today's the last day of the year. But it's just like any other day to me i guess. No diff. Paddled 20k this morning for the first time in forever. My paddling has reached a new level: probably have to press like B1 or B2 in the lift to get there -_-''. After that I tried running home, but ended up walking the 2nd half. Sounds a bit familiar somehow. Shrugs. Wonder what would happen if i simply maintain my current form till the Sundown marathon.

I lent Bill my trusty bike for his leisure cycle at ecp. Hope he survives. Hur hur. I had initially wanted to raise the handle bar 1- 2 cm for him last night but failed. I guess not touching and not servicing my bike has led to the metal and carbon fiber spacers bonding to each other, somehow.

Well, and turns out that the bike rack I used for my Tour to Thailand wasn't that trusty afterall... on Friday as I sped over a small road hump in the drive way at shaw plaza near my house, the retaining bolt sheared off and the rack crashed to the ground behind me. Weird thing was, the rack was empty, with nothing on it when it happened... The car behind me was kind enough to stop and wait for me to pick up the pieces...

Hmmm, had I extended my cycling trip, who knows what disaster might have happened. Anyway, the shearing of the bolt confirmed my fears that that was the weakest point in the structural integrity of the rack. One bolt holding the entire rack (1kg) + the max load of 9kg, which extends like 35cm out from the clamp + sudden forces and accelerations in going over humps etc. The strain must have been incredible.

I brought the rack to Soon Watt and the bolt was replaced promptly with no questions asked. On other news, to my dismay, the price of the below mentioned cycling shoes have sky rocketed by 30%. =( Maybe they will cost thousands one day, who knows. Ridiculous right?

I'll try to catch the new year's day group ride tomorrow.
