Note: Do not try to post an overly long post here on blogspot! IT WILL GIVE YOU AN INTERNAL SERVOR ERROR AND BAR YOU FROM LOGGING IN FOR ONE DAY!
Yes, I wasted time 2 days ago trying to update my blog only to end up with the above.
Now what was I going to say? Can't remember much, but the gyst of it was me realising that until now, I have yet to properly introduce the Ironman 70.3 Singapore.
Who: Me, and about 1000 (currently 700++) other peeps
What: Basically a half-Ironman (yes, 70.3 is a glorified way of saying half)
Where: Singapore, see route map in earlier post.
When: 2nd September
Why: ....... Pain? Suffering? Fun? =)
Yups, the official website is www.ironman703singapore.com . The 70.3 represents the total number of miles covered in the race: 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run, which translates to 1.9km swim, 90.1km bike, 21.1km run. Oh, and yes, my goal is to finish in under 5 hours.
Earlier on, I was checking up on past Ironman World Championship winners, and the 2006 champ Norman Stadler amused me, as he pretty much won the race on the bike leg alone (he destroyed the field by 10mins there and was chased down to about 1min in the run). Pretty inspiring, but too bad my cycling can't even make the elite category locally...
Anyways, once I get my aerobar fixed I'll be trying to set-up my TCR composite into TT (time trial) mode. Maybe I'll try and copy Norman Stadler's position =)
