Uneventful 1st day of school. CN3122 Mass Transfer Operations looks to be one of the harder modules. 1st lecture already loaded with some equations and graphs calling upon previous module knowledge.

Had good luck with my tutorial bidding and more or less got everything I wanted. Mostly on Wed and one on Fri. Still have 1 more tutorial to bid for.

Bike suffered a slow puncture (cost me $7 for new tube) today in camp and I managed to get it inflated for a 10 min ride to the nearest bike shop. Was going for the Rodalink near Nee Soon camp but turns out it was closed (bike shops usually closed on either Sundays or Mondays) but had luck with this no-name one a stone's throw away (literally) from there. Basically it's this really messy shop cluttered with lower end bikes and old stuffs and the owner was watching tv with his 2 dogs. Well, amazingly shops like this one are great for finding what I consider the really practical and value cycling tires! I obtained a pair of Kenda 25mm tires for $36 each! Replaced my worn (and tearing) Michelin Dynamic tire. Most modern road bike shops don't stock any 25mm tires and those I managed to get were like 2nd hand ones sold by their unappreciative owners. If I could I would have liked to try the 27mm tires but my seat tube and brake caliper clearances don't allow for that... And I had a nice discussion about mounting a pannier rack to the rear of my bike but ultimately the guy said it would not be really feasible (not very stable and may be $$$) due to the design of my bike (lack of eyelets, wheel height, short chain stays).

The drivetrain of my work horse might be reaching the end of it's limited lifespan... Already, a few gear combinations are 'off-limits' (use at own risk) and some times the unexpected double shifting is not very welcomed. And worst of all.... now my bottom bracket is making this "tick-tick-tick, tick-tick" sound every pedal stroke I make.... The noise is so loud it can wake the dead. I don't think I would be welcomed on a group ride... How to ride tomorrow..... T_T
