First day of IA. Spent nearly the entire day sitting down, listening to background and safety presentations followed by a short tour of the place. I take about 85mins to get there and 95mins to get back by public transport, out of which 70mins is standing in mrt and 15mins in a sardine-packed bus. And it costs about $4.50 a day, which will amount to about $100 a month. So a 6 months IA duration will amount to $600. So I can buy a $600 bike... Ha ha.

My inquiry at the guardhouse about the whereabouts of the bicycle park returned a pretty disappointing response: "Bicycles are not allowed on site (including the carpark) etc...". "You can park outside the premises at your own risk", "Luckily you asked, or else we would have .... etc etc". Apparently they even turned away contractors and workers who arrived on their bikes.

Looks like I have to start taking my "own risk" soon. I wonder if he would appreciate my playing around with the technicalities of what constitutes a "bicycle", but I guess I shall not risk it. The company seems particularly fussy about such "security" / "safety" issues. I may actually decide to risk losing my bike (again!) to banglahs. Perhaps a heavy duty industrial chain and lock, or a missing front wheel would help?

After being cooped up for so long in a motionless position, I finally resumed running just now. Did a 10k or so in 80mins. Felt shiok. Biathlon and sundown, here i come....
