Tested the bike this morning. It wasn't exactly according to plan though, as I woke at 5:30am instead of the planned 4:45 and basically missed the entire ANZA group. Decided to carry on solo anyway and true enough the half an hour plus delay had consequences on the traffic turning into kranji area. The ride started out pretty bad with aches in parts of my legs, especially my right foot bridge. But after say 30 mins of trying to force things it started to get better and I finally started settling into the rhythm. Positioning so far has been comfortable and I have been able to handle all the corners tucked in on the aerobars. Bike handling has been OK... Power wise it's still less than desired but enough for a decent ride given the smooth form I guess. A steady 36kmh on the flat is possible but uphills it's miserable at less than 30.
Not going to ride until the day itself bah.
Start preparations and packing tomorrow.
Besides that results for AHM are out... My team has dropped to 6th overall, with first 5 teams being 2PDF, Commandos, 6Div, Guards and OCS. I think we lack tough, quality training. It's been a very conservative approach of avoiding injuries thus far and it's not working.
My timing is 1:35:02. Think 2 girls thrashed me by 8 and 6 minutes respectively. The Capt who passed away was part of the OCS team and did 1:34:40. Hmmm, I may have seen him being strechered away...
