After one week of not running and recent day's flu, today was the final shiong AHM training at Bedok Reservoir. 15 X 1km (1'). Meant to be a race pace training, but well, were pretty much overestimating our abilities as usual... I started with the second group, which was to do a 4:10 pace per 1km (There are 0.5km markers along the route). First group at 4:00 pace, third group at 4:20 pace. Well... 4:10 pace translates to 1:27 AHM, and considering at the peak of my abilties in the ARMY I was doing 1:32 or slightly less, this didn't look good. In the end the rough results were:
4:27(1')
4:17(1')
4:11(1')
4:10(1')
4:11(1')
4:08(1')
4:09(1')
4:08(1'10")
4:13(1'10")
4:17(1)
4:23(1'10")
4:10(2'10", drop to 3rd group)
4:23(1'30")
4:20(2'30")
3:59
It was a good training, but I hope my body continues to recover..... Then things will be better. The dudes in the 1st group kept their 4:00 pace all the way. So it shows a difference in standards and attitudes. A handful dropped out half way.
And sadly it is still unknown if this year's budget will provide for my running shoes... Sigh.
Mission now is to keep healthy for this weekend and for next next week end too. More for the next weekend though. Heh.

=) well, you could always join the army you know.... hur hur. it's all in the name of national defence!
The image of our army as one that embraces running and training is sure to boost both home morale and deter potential aggressors! And we need shoes to run!
