Today marked the start of my AHM centralised training. (Shall refrain from calling it ICT, heh) This year, it's at Pasir Laba Camp instead of Khatib Camp, which adds about 30 mins cycling time and bad traffic. Once again, I'm heading West just like my recently concluded IA days at Merck. Anyway, a good 3.5 years ago I used to cycle this route every day for about a year...
I would say the admin for this ICT could have been better improved. There were no formal instructions in writing of sms given about the whereabouts of the training! Nor were we informed of the do's and don'ts. Anyway I did my usual non-comformity style of entry into camp, and luckily there were no problems despite Pasir Laba being a much stricter camp.
Anyway, I toyed around with my nutritional levels today again. Due to Thursday, Friday and Sunday's inactivity (playing PSP, last day of IA, and simply just lazy so didn't run) plus Pizza sessions on Sat and Thurday, I decided to lose some weight by eating one McDonald's Sausage Mcmuffin plus Ice Milo for lunch. And thanks to either the 'excellent' admin support or the impression that AHM runners are immortals, I was put through a 90 min briefing followed by a 10k orientation run, with no food etc etc. The orientation run left me winded. I was hungry and tired, but there were no bed sheets and no dinner indented today, so the supposed stay in was cancelled and we were shooed home.
Yup, so the cycle back home was kind of debilitating and low on fuel (despite my days' worth of fats). I was somehow sweating profusely despite my low hydration level, and on the way I picked up some mountain biker whom I could not lose despite putting up a hard pace (36kmh - 41kmh on flats and slight uphills). Destroyed.
The night was spent with a short visit to my Dad at TTSH (under observation due to a recurrent fainting spell caused by irregular heartbeat) and acquiring a pair of Ultegra SL brake calipers.
Training commences early tomorrow at a far away place. Crap, so much for reading FYP readings.
