The initial group of twelve interns at MSD has finally been withered down to 3. I wonder why we agreed to stay, especially when there's no pay increase involved. Heh, but we've devised our own lean work standards now to increase our $/hr (although the total pay remains unchanged).
Anyway, the honeymoon brain-partially-switched-off IA is coming to an end, and with the FYP balloting, the next 2 semesters are starting to feel more and more real. A slow manual calculation (my formerly trusty scientific calculator since sec 1 has failed to revive itself since last sem) and recalculation revealed the amount of academic pain and suffering I would have to endure to push up the CAP one grade... (i can already imagine the butt pain and neck strain from countless hours of sitting.... motionless. This is going to be more brutal than a deca-Ironman)
Time to start psychying myself mentally.
That aside, I've started planning a training program. Hopefully, it will give my life some focus. The beauty of student/athlete life is that to a very large extent, the more effort you put in, the more results you obtain. As compared to other things. And it keeps your time and mind occupied (for good or for worse it depends).
Ship out and shape up. Ship out and shape up.
