Secretly went for Wednesday ANZA ride this morning. Tompang-ed my bag in the NUS shed until after the ride then collect. For unknown reasons I had great difficulty following the ride this morning. Wasn't able to exert when the occasion called for it. I was nearly dropped but as usual saved by traffic lights and parked vehicles.

By the time I collected my bag and made my way to camp, my hip kinda bu xinged already... Hmmm, "I wonder what the 30 min tempo run will be like".... I was soon told it was supposed to be as follows: Start at 3:45 pace for the 1st 1km and gradually settle into race pace 4:15-30 per km. Maintain till 25 mins then up till max.

Well, the first step I took I realised something was amiss... Heavy heavy legs... Hmmmm, first round 4:01.... And then I ended up slow jogging for 30 mins. End of story. I think the PTI Warrant Officer is having ideas about me not cycling. Ha ha, no lah, but he does talk about it from time to time.

Simply put my legs were already destroyed by the morning cycle. This is bad news in light of the 70.3 as the conditions will probably be similar. Else, my bike leg will have to be very very slow.... I estimate that with my current level I can do a half marathon in 1:37. So a conservative post swim and cycle half marathon would be about... 1:47-1:50?. Drats.....

Estimate swim 42min, bike 2hr44min, run 1hr50min, transition 2.5min each = 5hr 21min.... Need to make up 21 min.... Hmmm. Hopefully bike can cut 10min (2kmh faster), swim cut 2 min(3 sec per lap faster), run cut 8 min, transition cut 1 min??

Oh well I'll figure out how to do the above another day... there are still... slightly less than 4 weeks...
Anyways here are some pictures of the air-con room I get to sleep in between trainings...

eh...... the use of safari beds to sleep on the floor isn't like TOP SECRET information is it? haha....

Anyways it would be so cool to have one then can like sleep comfortably anywhere. I should show you how compact it is when disassembled.
