Hysys is a big waste of time... Well, I think a large part is due to unfamiliarity of the system, as well as our own preconcieved notions of how we should justify each step we use. Actually, everything seems pretty random and a matter of trial and error.

Which perhaps IS the way it's supposed to be done. It is, afterall, meant for simulations.

Anyway, I sneaked in a Sunday morning ride, and ended my day cycling with a girl and a kid. Yeah, I was dropped along the stretch of Lim Chu Kang. I was in last wheel, and couldn't hold the pace of the 20, yes 20, riders who were going at a mere, say 40kmh? Sigh, dunno, it just happened. Legs no power, heart no stamina, lungs punctured. Could only keep a 38kmh and watch them fade... Once the gap formed and the wind hit me in the face it was pretty much over.

*shrugs.

Then well, some people who were dropped earlier passed me, and before I knew it I was completing the rest of the ride literally with some girl and another say 14yr old kid.

Anyway, at the end of the ride I met this Japanese guy who had just come from Tokyo 1 day ago to work in Singapore for month. He had brought his bike and was asking for places to ride... Ha ha.... but well, could tell he hadn't been riding for a while so I could only suggest some random guidelines on where to find suitable rides. He was riding a Anchor bike though, which is pretty much the best Japanese home-based bike brand.

And I met Jason Chiang who was also from RI/RJ, now studying SMU. He's stronger than ever, and currently rides for Cycleworx. I remember he had organised a trip for SMU cycling club to go cycling in France last year. Amazing. And I heard about his accident with a car, but he only suffered superficial wounds despite the destruction of his bike. Well, he was at that time riding with the cycleworx group, and they helped him settle insurance claims etc. So now he rides a bike which I estimate costs slightly less than 10k bah. Pinarello F4:13 with full Campagnolo Record and Zonda wheels?

Ok, the laundry is done.......
